History of Our Building
On August 26, 2004, the City of Winston-Salem deeded the Northampton Community Center to the local NAACP to support community-oriented programs and services. The building was renamed the NAACP Enrichment Center and has since served as a place where the Winston-Salem Branch continues to connect, empower, and serve the community.
Over the years, the NAACP Enrichment Center has hosted countless programs and initiatives, including membership meetings and drives, Community Days, Kids Café—an after-school program providing hot meals and a safe space for neighborhood children—health screenings, blood drives, and other community-focused activities.
After more than two decades of service, our building is showing the natural wear and tear that comes with years of use. Now, we have an opportunity to restore, improve, and revitalize this important community resource.
